German Show Results 2014! Goody and Gambler!

So proud of Goody and Gambler at their first show in Germany, Goody was 8th of 15 dogs and Gambler was 7th of 12 in his class and both received the rating of SG (sehr gut, very good). I am super happy with this, Gambler's first show ever and Goody's first time in the ring with more than just one other dog LOL! They just turned 12 months old this past week and are most definitely the youngest in their classes. Sooooo excited!!! Thanks so much to our trainer Heinz for preparing them and to our good friend Laura for taking some photos and letting us know results as they happened!

2013 Show Season Continues...

Great day today! Tyra von der Westküste was SG2 and presented herself very well. Malibu von der Westküste was V2 and was beautiful once again in the ring. Zamp von der Urbecke showed in his first Veteran's class and of course was beautiful, the judge said he could have still competed in the working class but we've retired him from that class since he is six now and has already earned 18 V ratings in shows. Thanks to Andre for his handling and to my awesome husband for all of his help from set up to calling the dogs in the ring!

The 2013 Show Season Is Off To A Great Start!

West Coast German Shepherds is so happy to share our results from our first show of 2013 at the Deutsche Schaeferhunde Club of San Diego!

Our young female Scarlett von der Westküste made us very proud by winning first place in her first youth class aged 12-18 months, she earned the highest rating of SG1 with four dogs total in the class. She received a very good critique from SV Judge Joachim Steigler, who said she was the sure winner of her class.  Scarlett is the result of one of our very special breedings that took place in Germany in 2011 to a top ranking male named Renzo vom Höltkamper See and is out of our wonderful female Mandy vom Höltkamper Hof who is also the mother of our top young female Malibu von der Westküste. Looks like Scarlett wants to be like her big sister Malibu :)

We also presented a very special puppy along with her owners Dan and Chris from our 2012 German breeding to the world famous Tyson vom Köttersbusch and out of our import female Karma vom Hattorfer-Land. In the 9-12 female puppy class the lovely Willow von der Westküste was 4th of 5 dogs total and earned the highest rating of VP. Willow is the litter sister to our top ten North American Sieger Show puppy Wynn von der Westküste.

Both of these young females were beautifully handled by our new friend Jessica. Jessica handled Malibu to her Regional Vice Siegerin placing back in December. We are happy to have a new member of the team who lives close by and goes above and beyond to make herself available to skillfully handle our dogs in the show ring! And thanks to Kris for taking the win photos for us!

Many thanks to Herr Joachim Steigler for the great placings as well as all of his helpful tips to make our presentation even better the next time in the ring. Looking forward to the next time in the ring!
